Urgent Fund Appeal: Help Contribute to the Wisconsin People’s Movement!

September 8, 2020

Dear friends,

Greetings. We hope this finds you ok.

We are writing to ask for your assistance. To make a contribution please click here If you are unable to make a financial contribution, please share the link with your friends and/or on your social media/websites.

In the summer of 2020, we’ve been in Milwaukee, Kenosha, Sheboygan, Appleton, Waupacua, Green Bay, Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, Racine and many other cities supporting the people’s struggles from Black Lives Matter to workers rights and more. This is a continuation of our work since June of 2011 when we formed Wisconsin Bail Out The People Movement, an all-volunteer network of people’s fighters based in poor and working people’s communities.

Since our founding, we’ve promoted on our blog and Facebook page thousands of events in Wisconsin and beyond, supported events with logistical assistance including acquiring or providing sound for protests, providing thousands of signs and banners, assisted in raising ten of thousands of dollars for legal defense for protesters and much much more. This work has benefited dozens of people’s organizations in Wisconsin and beyond.(To make a contribution please click here)

We are entirely funded by poor and working people’s contributions. Due to the unprecedented nature of the protests that have and are taking place in Wisconsin, this is the first time we’ve issued a major fund appeal to all of our supporters. It’s our view the needs to keep the struggle in the streets are greater than ever and we want to do that this fall but we need your help to do so.

We are now asking our supporters, allies and friends to help us by making a contribution to continue our work. To make a donation to help support the peoples’ struggle in Wisconsin and the work of the Bail Out the People Movement, please click here. Whether your contribution is large or small, every cent collected will help to build  the people’s struggle in Wisconsin – and (with our Facebook page and blog) to help provide you with real insight of what is happening on the front lines here.

We are continuing our work building – in the spirit of unity and solidarity – the network of freedom fighters across Wisconsin this fall to increase our organizing power statewide. Every cent donated will be used for this purpose.

We appreciate any help you can give. If you are unable to assist at this time financially, please share this link: please click here All power to the people!
Si Se Puede!

In unity and solidarity,

US on the cusp of change that will have global implications

Monday, 07 September 2020 6:13 PM  [Last Update: Monday, 07 September 2020 6:20 PM]

By Abayomi Azikiwe

The situation in Portland (in Oregon) is critical to the overall struggle against police violence, institutional racism in the United States. People have been demonstrating for over 100 days. They have faced down local police, federal agents that were deployed by the Trump White House. And they’ve also had to battle the psychological warfare and the propaganda, that’s been leveled at the demonstrators by the corporate media, along with the Trump administration.

This is not isolated to Portland; it’s happening all over the United States. People are fed up with police brutality, and quite frankly, they’re responding to the social crisis that exists in the United States.

Right now, the situation is complicated, because there’s less than two months before the national presidential election. Trump is desperate to win a second term and is willing to continue its massive transfer of wealth from working the people and poor people to the top ruling interest in the United States.

And the administration is using everything, including voter suppression, they’re attempting to dismantle the United States Post Office because due to the pandemic a lot of people have to vote via mail, and he’s also labeling the cities where people have been protesting against police brutality, as anarchists have lost control and he’s wanting to cut off federal funding to the cities.

And he’s also sent in federal troops and vehicles to the various cities. Here in Detroit where I’m, they have what is called operation legend, to be placed in cities across the United States where they’re sending in federal agents. Ostensibly that’s the plan, but we know that they’re here to monitor the developments of the demonstrations.

So people have to continue to be vigilant, because otherwise, if the administration is able to disenfranchise millions of people to repress legitimate free speech and assembly and to continue their war on the working people and the poor and African Americans, the situation will be almost unbearable in the United States.

I believe the consciousness level of people in United States is rising, and therefore it is creating panic on Wall Street, as well as the Trump White House. So it’s going to continue. And I believe that there will be major changes coming up in the next few months here in the United States that will have global implications.

The Stage Is Set For A Venezuela October Surprise

https://bit.ly/35h55NR

By: Leonardo Flores On: September 2, 2020

Caracas (VZA– Aggression against Venezuela from the US has intensified in recent weeks and all signs are pointing towards an escalation ahead of elections in the US and Venezuela.

The hybrid war against Venezuela is intensifying as the US presidential campaign is heating up. The Trump administration and its Venezuelan and international allies have set the stage for an October surprise, a possible attack by the United States or one of its proxies designed to boost President Trump’s reelection. The attacks on Venezuela are coming from multiple dimensions, including overt military pressure, economic pressure, covert operations, and disinformation campaigns. All of these are elements of a hybrid war that has sought to overthrow the government of President Nicolás Maduro over the past years, and each element has seen new developments over the past few weeks, just as Venezuela is battling a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Overt military pressure

The US naval deployment to Venezuela’s maritime border is about to begin its fifth month of operations in the area. Even the few Democrats in Congress willing to criticize Trump’s Venezuela policy have said nothing about this deployment, perhaps because it is entirely normal for the United States to threaten war on a country and then dock its Navy right outside. The silence from Democrats is unfortunate, as this could easily have been used as an example of the Pentagon’s wastefulness. Deploying a massive “counter-narcotics” operation to the Caribbean, when 84% of the cocaine in the US transits through the Pacific, could be low-hanging fruit in the debate to cut military spending.

In Colombia, President Iván Duque met with National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien and Head of US Southern Command Craig Faller on  August 18, where they announced the Colombia Growth Initiative, a multi-billion-dollar plan that O’Brien says is “focused on rural development, infrastructure expansion, security, and the rule of law,” though the announcement was short on details. Two days after the visit with US officials, Duque baselessly accused Venezuela of trying to acquire medium and long-range missiles from Iran. Both Iran and Venezuela denied the allegations…. https://geopoliticsalert.com/

Stand with Steelworkers at Fisher Cast!

#USWUnity

Members of USW Local 2342 at Fisher Cast Steel Products in West Jefferson, Ohio are facing a tough fight in their contract negotiations.

The company is trying to strip away their most fundamental protections and rights, such as union recognition, seniority, just cause discipline and arbitration.

Fisher Cast Steel Products received hundreds of thousands of taxpayers’ dollars from the federal COVID-19 relief fund.

This funding is meant to help small businesses during this trying time and support good jobs in our community. The company benefited from taxpayers’ money and yet wants to attack good, union jobs.

Add your name to pledge your solidarity with USW Local 2342 workers who are fighting for fairness and good jobs at Fisher Cast Steel Products. http://usw.to/StandWFisherCast
