2nd Anniversary CVille Half Sheet 7 16 19
On the 2nd anniversary of Charlottesville (Aug. 10-11), a call for:
National Days of Action Against White Supremacy – Impeach Trump for Hate Crimes!
We hold in our hearts the memory of anti-racist activist Heather Heyer and the dozens injured by the fascists in Charlottesville. While it was a Nazi thug who murdered Heather, it is the bigot-in-chief Donald Trump, endorser of the “very fine” Nazi and Klan scum, who has enshrined their genocidal ideology as his national policy against the disabled, the LGBTQ+ community, and all People of Color.
Migrants at our southern border, who are “engaged in a federally protected activity” of seeking asylum, are having their babies ripped from their parents arms, their children kidnapped and placed in cages, women forced to drink out of toilets. Cages are so crowded that no one can even lie on the floor. Food, soap, even toothbrushes are denied them, all on the orders from Trump because of their “race” and “national origin.” This meets the very definition of a federal hate crime multiplied thousands of times.
Trump is showing off his brutality “stripes” to his rich friends on Wall Street, to show them how tough he’ll be to those who oppose their cutbacks, like the dismantling of Obamacare. We’re supposed to fight over the scraps that they grant us. That’s why they’ve poured more than $100 million into Trump’s re-election campaign. We demand that Congress immediately impeach Trump for hate crimes and dump his whole gang of rich bigots!
We ask that organizations who agree with this message organize and publicize an activity within their community on these dates. Message us to have your group’s name added to this call. 2nd Anniversary of Charlottesville: Act Against White Supremacy

The Coalition to March on the DNC is excited to announce a rally and march on the opening day of the Democratic National Convention, Monday, July 13, 2020 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“All eyes will be on Milwaukee when the people’s movements protest outside the DNC as it takes place at the Fiserv Forum, July 13 thru July 16th, 2020. The Coalition calls on all progressive, left, democratic and socialist organizations to join us in unity,” says Omar Flores, spokesperson for the Coalition.
“In forming the Coalition, we already applied for a permit to rally at Red Arrow Park and to march within sight and sound of the Fiserv Forum. We will be holding our first organizing meeting in Milwaukee in the coming weeks,” continued Flores.
In previous years, organizers of the Coalition led mass marches that drew tens of thousands to the 2008 RNC in St. Paul, MN, and thousands to the 2012 RNC in Tampa, FL, and the 2016 RNC in Cleveland, OH.

Support the TAA-AFT at UW Madison – Full Seg Fee Relief NOW!
TAA – Graduate Worker Union of UW-Madison
A portion of grad students’ mandatory fees fund vital services on campus, like University Health Services, the Rape Crisis Center, and the Tenant Resource Center. That portion is not as big as you might think. In fact, of the unprecedented $170 raise in seg fees announced last week, 90% goes to pay debts and operating costs for two new recreational buildings. Overall, only 17% of revenue from segregated fees was under democratic student control in 2018-2019. None of the revenue from the discriminatory International Student Fee is under student control.
TAA – Graduate Worker Union of UW-Madison
The TAA does not ask for graduate workers’ mandatory fees to be “waived,” nor will we accept any scheme that shifts the burden onto undergraduates. The university has the resources to pay our fees in full, at just 0.2% of the operating budget. If administrators value the services currently funded through segregated fees, they would be wise to fund them by means other than wage theft. In the long run, the Teaching Assistants Association, your labor union, is fighting to remake the university into a place where the idea of charging workers for their labor and students for their education is unthinkable. #FeesAreWageTheftUW

Milwaukee Area Labor Council: Laborfest September 2, 2019
SAVE THE DATE! September 2nd, 2019
While Wisconsin is getting a wintry mix right now, we’re looking towards warmer weather! You can find all updates for Laborfest in this event and on our website (milwaukeelabor.org) as we get more details.
Every year, labor unions and union members of the Milwaukee Area Labor Council, AFL-CIO, put on the biggest festival on the Milwaukee Lakefront that’s free and open to the public. Through the generosity of local unions and the companies at which they work, we can bring you a day of fun at the lakefront that includes live music for adults and families, children’s entertainment like science and magic shows, a classic car show and union raffle which has included a genuine union-made Harley-Davidson motorcycle for several years.
But before you head to the lakefront, be sure to visit the parade route to see the union members in their trucks, on their Harleys, and marching with their locals in downtown Milwaukee.
