We know it will be extremely cold so in addition to passing out hand warmers we are sharing tips on how to stay warm.
- Make sure you bundle up with a skin tight layer and two or more baggy layers.
- Keep your core warm with scarfs, vests, or shawls to keep your whole body from getting cold.
- Natural fibers like wool and silk create a layer of insulation that goes well with synthetic fibers like thinsulate
- Pre heat natural fibers like wool or silk. You can use an oven on low, a radiator or a tumble dryer. Be careful not to put synthetic fabrics in the oven as they are not flame resistant.
- Moisturize your skin for an extra layer of protection that stops heat from escaping your body.
- We will have marshalls and volunteers passing out hand and toe warmers. If you get cold, look for the people in the yellow vests
