NPR, PBS, and 1,000 Public Stations are at risk – Act Now!

Elon Musk is taking aim at NPR, PBS, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, pushing to slash the federal funding that keeps them alive.

He declared on his platform X: “Legacy media must die,” and now he’s working with Vivek Ramaswamy to gut $535 million in essential public broadcasting funding as part of a $2 trillion budget-cutting crusade.

Saving NPR and PBS is about preserving access to reliable information, local news, and educational programming that rural communities, underserved areas, and vulnerable populations depend on.

Imagine rural public radio stations going silent, or iconic programs like Sesame Street disappearing. That’s the future Musk is pushing for. We cannot allow these essential services to fall victim to Musk’s vendetta against independent media.

Congress must hear from you right now. Tell them that NPR, PBS, and the more than 1,000 public radio and television stations nationwide are non-negotiable.

The funding Musk and his allies are targeting represents a tiny fraction of the federal budget, barely a drop in the bucket compared to options like trimming bloated Pentagon contracts or imposing taxes on billionaires like himself.

Yet, they’re choosing to attack one of the most democratic resources we have: public broadcasting.

What Musk is doing isn’t about efficiency, it’s about silencing voices that challenge his vision for a corporate-dominated media landscape. NPR and PBS are key components of journalism, education, and culture that speak truth to power, and that’s exactly why they’re being targeted.

Help preserve independent media and protect these essential services from being eliminated.

Thank you for working to fight to save public broadcasting.
