CWA members across the country are deeply disappointed by Donald Trump’s firing of National Labor Relations Board General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo and NLRB member Gwynne Wilcox. Abruzzo, a current CWA member and part of our union family, has been a tireless advocate for workers. As NLRB General Counsel, she held billionaire CEOs accountable for silencing workers and ensured that those unjustly disciplined or fired received the compensation they were owed. Her removal is a direct assault on the rights and protections of working people.
Wilcox, as an NLRB member, consistently stood with workers to defend their freedom to organize and collectively bargain against corporate overreach. Her illegal firing has left the NLRB unable to enforce labor laws, creating a dangerous void that benefits wealthy corporate power. These actions threaten the fundamental protections workers depend on, leaving families vulnerable to unchecked greed and exploitation.
