WI AFL-CIO: Help Stop Attacks on the NLRB – Sign Petition

The Trump Administration has fired key officials from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) leaving the Board unable to fully function and protect workers. NLRB Board Member Gwynne Wilcox was unexpectedly and illegally fired on January 28, depriving the National Labor Relations Board of a needed quorum to rule on cases at the federal level.

The National Labor Relations Board is the independent government agency tasked with safeguarding worker rights, overseeing union elections, and investigating allegations of wrongdoing brought forth by workers, unions, or employers.

The NLRB requires a three-member quorum to issue new decisions. With just two members seated, the NLRB can’t rule on new cases or use its full authority to protect workers. Without a quorum, unfair labor practice cases can stall indefinitely, leaving illegal employer practices unchecked.

The labor movement is fighting back and asking President Trump to reinstate Gwynne Wilcox and restore the NLRB’s ability to fully protect workers’ rights. We’re asking all members of Congress to sign a letter calling for the reinstatement of NLRB Board Member Gwynne Wilcox.
