Madison Christian Community
Kristine Wilkie, of Madison, and her sister Martha Monson Lowe, from Decorah, Iowa, traveled to Palestine in November 2024 with CMEP, Churches for Middle East Peace, to stand in solidarity with their Palestinian friends, both Christians and Muslims, who are navigating the challenges of war and occupation by Israel. Martha has lived and worked in Bethlehem and East Jerusalem, while Kristine has visited many times.
They invite you to hear about their eye witness accounts of those living under apartheid, focusing on the realities of land confiscation, lack of movement, checkpoints, unemployment, lack of water, and the violation of other human rights.
You will discover that the steadfastness, the resilience, the “sumud” of Palestinians is truly inspiring.
Along with their presentation, Palestinian handwork will be for sale, including olive wood carvings, pottery, embroidery, olive oil soap, jewelry, Keffiyehs, Hebron glass, and more.
