Fri Mar 28, 2 pm Action: Witness for Peace – It’s Time to Come Together. Meet at Postman Square, 811 N. Plankton St. National War Tax Resistance and Catholic Worker movements and other peace-oriented organizations will join the leadership of Pax Christi USA for a public action. All are welcome to bear witness to the power of prayer, study, and action in advocating for peace, justice, and nonviolence in the name of Jesus Christ. Participants will include Bishop John Stowe of Lexington, Kentucky, Pax Christi USA bishop president, its executive director Charlene Howard, and Michelle Sherman, director of Nonviolence and Campus Outreach. They will be in Wisconsin for the group’s National Council meeting in Racine that weekend. Representatives of local War Tax Resistance, Pax Christi and Catholic Worker groups are also involved. Postman Park is directly across the street from the building (then the Brumder, now the Germania) from which the Milwaukee Fourteen took and burned draft records on September 24, 1968.
