Hello peace activist :
You are invited to join the WI Coalition for Justice in Palestine in a lobby day in Madison on Wednesday April 23. We have a free bus leaving from Central United Methodist Church, 639 N. 25th Street, Milwaukee. This is at 25th and Wisconsin, a few blocks north of I-94 in Milwaukee. There is parking in the church parking lot and on the street.
The bus starts boarding at 6:45 a.m. and leaves at 7 a.m. The bus leaves Madison for the return trip at 3 p.m.
The details of the Lobby Day are below in an email you will receive after you register. The last day to register is tomorrow, Friday, April 18. All who come with us must register. The link to register is here and in the letter below. the registration form to pass along.
The purpose of the lobby is to begin a campaign to repeal WI legislation that penalizes people for participating in the the BDS (boycott, divest, sanction) movement against Israel. This legislation violates our First Amendment rights and takes away an important tool for pressuring Israel to stop its genocide and apartheid.
Please email, call or text Jim Carpenter if you plan to ride the bus.

After you register for Lobby Day, you should get the following email:
Dear Friend,
Thank you for registering to take part in the Wisconsin Right to Boycott Lobby Day on Wednesday, April 23! Please encourage your friends and colleagues to join us. The deadline for signing up is April 18. Here’s the registration form to pass along.
Our day on the 23rd will begin at 9 am in the Capitol and will include a press conference, orientation to our request of legislators, and lobbying in groups of two or three. The day should wrap up by 3 pm. You will receive further information before the day of lobbying regarding the room number in the Capitol for the press conference and orientation session, as well as which representatives you are assigned to visit. Meanwhile, please view this lobby day training video presented by Janan Najeeb and Sandy Pasch. You will find it incredibly helpful! Zoom Link Passcode: @*ZkL6qr
We’ll ask all our representatives to introduce and support a repeal of the 2018 Anti-boycott legislation. Many of our newer representatives may not be familiar with the law. In our lobbying visits with representatives, both Senate and Assembly members, we will point out that this law prevents actions and is an infringement of free speech.
Please respond to this email to confirm that you received it. And, of course, please ask any questions you might have. A few people have offered overnight accommodations in their homes if needed by those traveling from far away. Let us know if this is something you need. If you have previously met with any of your representatives, let us know so that we can be sure you are assigned to meet with them. Also, if you will be attending the lobbying day but cannot stay from 9 to 3, please let us know when you will need to leave, as this relates to our scheduling appointments with legislators. Thank you!
With appreciation & best regards,
Susan Freiss & Donna Wallbaum
