MEDIA ADVISORY: UnityPoint Health Meriter Nurses Give Hospital 10-Day Notice of Unfair Labor Practice Strike

Meriter nurses represented by SEIU Wisconsin gave the hospital a 10-day notice that they will walk off the job starting Tuesday May 27 if no tentative agreement is reached

MADISON, WI – Yesterday, nearly 1,000 nurses at UnityPoint Health Meriter Hospital represented by SEIU WI gave the hospital a 10-day notice of their intention to go on strike.

The RNs, who have been in union contract negotiations with UnityPoint Health Meriter since January, are demanding staffing solutions that prioritize nurse and patient safety, compensation to attract and retain nurses, improved security practices at the hospital, and resolutions to multiple unfair labor practice charges filed by SEIU WI against Meriter.
