| Project Esther attempts to destroy the Palestinian solidarity movement and any opposition to the ongoing genocide in Gaza! We need your solidarity to resist! |
| On May 18, a major U.S. outlet presented deep research on Project Esther and Trump’s regime’s attempt to destroy the movement in solidarity with Palestine and any opposition to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. By categorizing any solidarity effort with Palestine amid Israel’s brutal siege as material support for terrorism, the plan, created by the Heritage Foundation and pushed by the current government, has laid its foundation on counter-terrorism and immigration laws to crush any attempt to shift U.S. foreign policy away from Israel’s interests. |
As part of this smear, criminalization, and intimidation campaign against any voice opposing current IDF’s massacres – which to date have claimed the lives of more than 52,000 Palestinians -the Alliance for Global Justice has been accused, along with other organizations, of being part of a group that Project Esther’s authors Victoria Coates, Daniel Flesch and Robert Greenway have dubbed the Hamas Support Network (HSN). As a consequence of right wing harassment, AFGJ has been going through a deplatform campaign (credit card companies won’t process our online donations), threatened with legal action for exercising the most fundamental rights, such as freedom of speech, due to our support to Palestinian-led solidarity organizations. Some of our members have even been harassed by law enforcement agents to stop their current work.
Project Esther counts on AFGJ and organizations in solidarity with the Palestinian people being unable to coordinate actions, communicate with the public or raise funds to continue their missions. Criminalization, persecution, detention, and even the disappearance and deportation of anyone linked to such organizations are just some of the “Necessary Conditions” that the Heritage Foundation report suggests for the consolidation of its project -and which, apparently, the Trump regime has pursued without qualms.
AFGJ plans to keep this work going and to build it on the only true foundation we could ever have: you. We need you because you represent, you are, the grassroots movement that we spring from. Support AFGJ today!
While the attacks against AFGJ are not new, we are alarmed that the crackdown on movements opposing genocide in Palestine could be just the beginning of an escalation in the repression of voices critical of U.S. foreign policy. Increased state violence, the dismantling of health and education systems, due process, and freedoms of speech and association – to name a couple – are all part of a plan that is not inevitable but needs our best efforts to be stopped.
“Project Esther outlined an ambitious plan to fight antisemitism by branding a broad range of critics of Israel as “effectively a terrorist support network” so that they could be deported, defunded, sued, fired, expelled, ostracized and otherwise excluded from what it considered “open society.” Inside the Heritage Foundation’s Plan to Crush the U.S. Palestinian Movement- The New York Times.
Project Esther has targeted us! What are we to do if foundations won’t fund us and if our access to contributors is blocked online? We must turn directly to you and ask that you take out pen and paper and send us your tax-deductible contributions. We need your help!
