Hello All,
Please join us for our volunteer drop-in meeting on Thursday July 17th at 6pm for an immigration rights workshop led by two local organizations that have been committed to providing education and support for the community.
Milwaukee Turners, a historic group fighting for social justice, will be presenting their Know Your Rights training which will educate on what to do in the moment you or a community member has been targeted due to immigration status.
Comité Sin Fronteras, a young adult branch of Voces de la Frontera dedicated to advancing immigration reform, will be presenting on the local identification of ICE, what Milwaukee has seen and information on the ICE hotline.
We’re incredibly grateful that Turners and Comité have taken the time to extend their knowledge to our M4P community. Our goal with this volunteer drop-in meeting is to make this valuable education more accessible to people unfamiliar with the resources these groups provide. As M4P, it is our duty to protect one another, whether we’re doing it to protect ourselves, someone we know or someone we’ve never met. To serve our Arabic-speaking community, an Arabic translator will be present.
