Hello everyone,

“From Rubble We Dance”, a performance by members of the Palestinian folkloric dance troupes Wishah and Baladi, is coming to the Bartell Theater, 113 E. Mifflin St., Madison, on Monday, September 8!Doors open at 6:15 pm, show begins at 7.
General Admission tickets are now on sale here

Both of these ensembles, well known in Palestine, present emotionally moving shows based on music and song traditions inherited from both Palestinian and broader Arab roots. Through their work, they aim to involve enthusiastic young dancers in contributing to Palestinian cultural life, preserving it from marginalization, and contributing to the advancement of Palestinian popular dancing.

Their 2025 US tour brings this beautiful and powerful artistic expression to US audiences, embodying the spirit of Palestine that asserts its identity, celebrates its heritage and refuses to be buried even in the darkest of times.

Palestinian embroidery, kufiyahs, and solidarity items including Stand with Palestine yard signs will be available for sale before the show.

The Madison performance is sponsored by MRSCP and the US Palestinian Community Network (USPCN), and welcomed by WORT Radio.

Madison ticket sales will support the dancers as they tour the US. Donations will be collected for Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) for humanitarian aid to Gaza. (As always, you can donate directly to MECA’s Gaza relief at this link whether or not you can attend.)You can help us publicize this event by circulating this email, and posting the event on your social media accounts; here it is on Facebook and Instagram.
