Unions in the UW system have been asking for voluntary recognition from their campuses for the last two years, but campus leadership has claimed they are prohibited from recognizing our unions by the Board of Regents. So our demands for union recognition have been directed to the Board itself. September 18th is the next Board of Regents meeting, and we are demanding that they pass a union recognition policy at this meeting.
It is highly recommended to RSVP at this link here as it would allow AFT to update folks interested in attending with any changes to time/ location. (The Board has made a last minute location change to avoid union actions in the past).
