November 7-9 (Charleton, SC): National Network on Cuba meeting
Greetings member organizations and friends of the National Network on Cuba,
Right now, the people of Cuba are facing an unprecedented crisis, crippling electrical blackouts, the relentless weight of the U.S. blockade, and now the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa. We are mobilizing urgently needed humanitarian aid to support Cuba in this trying time and we need your solidarity and support.
This hurricane is not just a natural disaster; it is a catastrophic humanitarian emergency worsened by over six decades of a genocidal U.S. economic blockade. This unjust policy has severely limited Cuba’s access to essential goods, medicines, and materials needed for recovery. The blockade, intensified by additional Biden and Trump-era measures, continues to inflict immense suffering, an estimated $7.5 billion in damages in the last year alone.
Despite these hardships, the resilience and dignity of the Cuban people and their revolution inspire the world. For 65 years, Cuba has stood firm, offering doctors, disaster relief, and solidarity to other nations, even under blockade. Now, in this urgent moment, we must stand with Cuba. The time to act is now.
Our immediate goal is to raise $50,000 to send essential food, clean drinking water, and emergency supplies to the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Melissa. Every dollar you give is a lifeline: a direct act of friendship and solidarity. Please donate today and encourage others in your community to do the same. Together, we can show that compassion and solidarity are stronger than any blockade.
The Hurricane Melissa Relief effort is a collaboration between The People’s Forum, IFCO/Pastors for Peace, The Hatuey Project, The National Network on Cuba (NNOC), and The Party for Socialism & Liberation, in partnership with The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Center (CMMLK) in Cuba.
All donations are tax-deductible. Please include “urgent aid” in the comment section of your contribution.
More information and updates will be shared in the days to come as relief efforts continue.
In solidarity,
National Network on Cuba (NNOC)
