Voces de la Frontera to Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha: ‘No ICE!’

SIGN THE PETITION! https://secure.ngpvan.com/tz8iqpKEOE642BS7jl2YYg2

‼️Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha has a written policy stating that they will cooperate and assist ICE – even if they legally do not have to do so‼️

This has recently come to our attention after they terminated Alderman Rico Camacho, the only Latino currently serving on the Waukesha City Council, from his teaching position after he reposted unverified information regarding possible ICE activity.

And we want to talk to the school’s administration about these issues and have a petition to Edward Foy the Superintendent of Catholic Schools to make this meeting happen.

Rico made an honest mistake, has learned from this experience, and continues to be committed to protect vulnerable families in Waukesha County which has active 287g agreements.

We want three things:

(1) Providing Rico Camacho the opportunity to meet with school leadership to engage in a restorative conversation and discuss a fair severance agreement.

(2) Exploring ways the school can strengthen protections and communication for immigrant students, families, and staff during these uncertain times.

(3) Identifying opportunities for collaboration between Catholic Memorial High School and Voces de la Frontera, including Know Your Rights education, responsible social media communication training, and other support for families navigating immigration processes or the loss of a loved one from arrest and deportation.

Sign the petition which will send our letter directly to Superintendent Foy. We just want to talk! ✍https://secure.ngpvan.com/tz8iqpKEOE642BS7jl2YYg2
