| Since the rise to power of the Trump 2.0 regime, the fascist attacks on migrants and working people, people’s organizers, and the working class have continually escalated. Trump’s fascist agenda is attacking the people in the interest of the most reactionary faction of the ruling class. Two key vehicles by which the agenda is carried out are via the expansion of ICE and militarization of major cities across the US, alongside the implementation of the “One Big Beautiful Act”. Internationally, the Trump regime has enacted aggressive tariffs and coercive economic policies while ramping up war provocations — most recently with Venezuela. In response, there has been growing resistance and united mass movement — particularly among the overseas diaspora. Notably, a strike wave fighting around common issues of staffing, wages, workplace conditions, and opposition to harassment and repression by employers. These basic livelihood fights are increasingly linked with the political fight around the issue of attacks on migrants and working people. Additionally, there continues to be growing movements among migrants and the diaspora in alignment with mass movements in their homeland in opposition to US imperialism. As conditions worsen, a wide range of political forces are organizing against Trump. Major cities have been able to fight back against the National Guard deployment, ICE attacks, and have stood firm in defending their communities. Labor is striking back with Starbucks Workers Union (SBWU) launching Red Cup Rebellion in their Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) strikes on the second largest food chain store in the US. ILPS-US and our members have been deeply immersed in these fights and persevering in advancing their local fights as part of our Defend Our Communities! Defend Peoples’ Struggle and People Over Profit campaigns. ILPS-US calls for launching nationwide mass actions alongside Defend Migrants Alliance to unite the mass movement against fascist attacks, targeting key institutions and departments implementing the US state’s offensive on migrants and the working class. |
