Lebanese revolutionary Georges Abdallah expressed his solidarity with Prisoners for Palestine and their ongoing hunger strike which launched on 2 November.
■ Three prisoners are now on strike and more are expected to join out of the 33 UK political prisoners currently detained without bail.
■ Before his release and return to Lebanon in July 2025, Abdallah was the longest-serving political prisoner in Europe, and spent 41 years locked up in France.
■ In a recent interview, Abdallah expressed his admiration for Palestine Action activists dismantling Israeli weapons factories. He said, “All these actions and demonstrations taking place in Europe, the reason they’re important isn’t just because they undermine the bourgeoisie of your country. Their value is the extent to which they inspire others on the other side of the Mediterranean. When Egyptians look at England and see hundreds of thousands of people demonstrating in solidarity with Gaza, they cannot remain silent.”
