Call Script

Hello, I am calling about the ongoing hunger strike undertaken by a group of political prisoners in the UK: Jon Cink, Heba Muraisi, Qesser Zuhrah, Amu Gib, Teuta Hoxha, Kamran Ahmed and Umer Khalid.

These young people have now gone without food for over a month, and several are now in critical medical condition. As I understand, only the UK Ministry of Justice has the power to ensure their demands are met. I urge you to contact the UK Ministry of Justice as soon as possible. Thank you for your time.

(If time allows: These prisoners have five demands: End all censorship of their mail and communications; Release them from custody while awaiting trial; That they be given access to their legal documents to ensure their right to a fair trial; That the UK government de-proscribe the organization Palestine Action; and that the UK government shut down all Elbit Systems facilities)

2. Pitch a Story to a Journalist or News Outlet

Subject: PITCH: UK POLITICAL PRISONERS ON HUNGER STRIKE

To Whom it May Concern,

My name is ________ and I am writing to pitch an urgent story for immediate release about a group of political prisoners in the U.K. who have been on hunger strike for over a month in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

Many of these prisoners have now become critically ill as a direct result of the ongoing lack of media coverage of this strike, and the resulting lack of pressure on the UK government to meet their demands.

We are hoping that _______ would be able to publish a piece on this hunger strike as soon as possible to help get the word out and build international pressure to ensure their lives are spared.

Thank you so much for your time,

Sincerely,

[YOUR NAME]

Subject: Urgent Medical Situation for [NAME OF PRISON] Inmate

To Whom it May Concern:

I am writing to demand that [NAME OF PRISON]  immediately address an urgent medical situation in regard to one of its inmates. [NAME OF INMATE(S)] has been on hunger strike for over a month, and their health is now in critical condition. To ensure that the inmate’s demands are met, and their life spared, it is critical that [NAME OF PRISON] cease obstructing and censoring this inmate’s mail and prison communications; that the inmate be released from custody while awaiting trial, as is their legal right; and that the inmate be given unrestricted access to all of their legal documents to ensure they are given a fair trial–again, as is their legal right.

Thank you in advance for letting me know what you have done to address the above concerns.

Sincerely,

To Whom it May Concern:

I am extremely concerned by the silence and inaction of the Ministry of Justice in regards to the ongoing hunger strike across 6 UK prisons since November 2, 2025. I urge the MOJ to immediately meet the demands of the unconvicted prisoners.

7 unconvinced prisoners – Qesser, Amu, Heba, Jon, Teuta, Kamran, Umer have been on full hunger strike. An 8th prisoner, Lewie, is now on partial hunger strike.

Most of them have been starving for more than 30 days, and are reaching the point where irreversible damage and death become an imminent danger.

Two have already been hospitalized. What is the MOJ waiting for?

None of these prisoners have had a trial or been convicted of any crime. They are all facing up to two years in prison pre-trial.

The hunger strike was initiated in response to the MOJ and Home Office ignoring an open letter from Prisoners for Palestine with five demands for justice, which was delivered on October 20.

The MOJ claimed it had 30 days to respond. It has now been 47 days and they have not responded.

Every day the MOJ ignores the demands of the hunger strikers, it knowingly puts their lives at risk. The MOJ must ensure the safety of these unconvicted prisoners.

Their demands are:

  1. End all censorship of communications
  2. Release them on bail immediately
  3. Give them the right to a fair trial
  4. Drop the terror link and all terrorism charges against them
  5. Shut Elbit Systems down

These demands constitute justice for the 32 unconvicted young people being held in UK prisons. The MOJ has the authority and the responsibility to “protect and advance the principles of justice.” How is the MOJ ensuring an immediate response to the demands of the hunger strikers?

** EMERGENCY **
BBC — your silence is deadly.

Six UK political prisoners are now in the critical stage of a hunger strike.

They — along with 18 others — have been held for over a year with no trial, no bail.
This is not justice — this is punishment for refusing to bow to genocide.

Eight hunger strikers: Amu & Qesser (start date Nov 2) Heba (Nov 3) Jon (Nov 6), T Hoxha (Nov 9), Kamran (Nov 10), Lewie (Nov 25), Umer (Dec 4) are surviving on nothing but their will.

Their bodies are shutting down, permanent organ damage — even death — is no longer hypothetical, but imminent.

As a state-funded broadcaster, it is your responsibility to report on this urgent, life-threatening crisis. We demand you fulfil that duty.

We will keep calling, writing & standing at your doors until you break your silence.

They are not numbers.
They are people with names, families, futures.
They have stories — and they are fighting to keep them alive.
Report this.
