19 stores filed for election today, one of the largest single-day filings Starbucks has seen. Baristas are on strike, and stores are lining up to join the union.
Since November, the Red Cup Rebellion has taken off across the country because people like you are showing up. For every union barista on the picket line, dozens of customers and allies have joined in solidarity, walking picket lines, showing up online and in person, and committing not to buy Starbucks. Support looks like no holiday drinks, no gift cards, and no crossing the picket line.
The strike is growing, and this video shows how! Share it to help tell baristas’ stories and support the workers leading this fight.
Too many workers are barely getting by. Paychecks don’t cover rent or daily needs, and unpredictable hours make it hard to qualify for the benefits Starbucks loves to brag about.
Baristas are still fired up, united, and taking action. Their demands are clear: Starbucks needs to stop union busting and finalize a fair contract with the pay, hours, and protections workers need to succeed. These jobs could be the best jobs in retail if Starbucks stepped up and gave the people who keep stores running and customers coming back what they deserve.
Until then: No Contract. No Coffee.
In solidarity,
Starbucks Workers United
