Madison, March 4, 2026: Film Premier of “The Voice of Hind Rajab”

Wednesday, March 4The Voice of Hind Rajab Madison Film Premier at the Marquee Theater, UW Union South1308 W. Dayton Street, Madison 6:30 – 8:00 pm

January 29, 2024. Red Crescent volunteers receive an emergency call from a six–year–old girl trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab, and for many on the outside, her story marked a turning point in their understanding of the ongoing genocide. Writer-director Kaouther Ben Hania  respectfully utilizes the 70-minute audio recording of her call—a harrowing reminder of the humanity of this Palestinian child and all children—to allow viewers to bear witness, while also using fiction to create a nuanced depiction of the people and events of that day. Even as a docu-fiction hybrid, The Voice of Hind Rajab will undoubtedly serve as a crucial record of this time, and tribute to the young girl who lived it.

Winner of the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and current nominee for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards. Trailer hereFilm website here.Free and open to the public.
