Sample Resolution: ‘Labor Must Say No to U.S. War, ICE Terror, and Rule of Billionaire Class’

Sample Resolution: Labor Must Say No to U.S. War, ICE Terror, and Rule of Billionaire Class

Whereas, on February 28, 2026, the U.S. and Israel launched a war on Iran, bombing the country’s capital in Tehran and other locations, and killing hundreds of people;

Whereas, this initial wave of attacks included strikes on two schools, killing hundreds, including at least 165 children at a girls’ elementary school in Minab, Iran;

Whereas, the war on Iran is part of a U.S.-Israeli quest for domination across West Asia, and cannot be separated from the U.S.-Israeli genocidal war on Palestine, which is catastrophic and ongoing;

Whereas, that genocidal war includes the Trump administration’s so-called “Board of Peace,” a joint, U.S.-Israeli plan to control Gaza;

Whereas, after the genocide in Gaza uncovered the mask of the international legal system, we are now witnessing escalating imperialist aggression worldwide, as Palestinians had forewarned;

Whereas, the horrific bombing of Iran also comes at the same time as continued U.S. war on and intervention in Venezuela, aggression and siege against Cuba, and ongoing and devastating ICE attacks on our communities across the country;

Whereas, U.S.-led violence and war has been escalating, both through racist corporate media narratives and through direct military action and ICE terror domestically;

Whereas, ICE has killed dozens of people in the past year, kidnapped thousands, and driven entire working class communities into hiding and constant fear;

Whereas workers recognize current attacks and narratives as a continuation of the supposed “war on terror” that has killed and harmed millions worldwide, including here in the U.S.;

Whereas, people everywhere deserve peace and the right to determine their own political, economic, and social future, free from U.S. intervention;

Whereas, it is the same drive for profit, resource extraction, and global financial domination at the hands of the billionaire class that fuels war, ICE kidnappings and killings, and our exploitation on the job;

Whereas, workers in the U.S. overwhelmingly demand our government focuses on meeting our basic needs, rather than waging war on workers here and abroad;

Therefore, be it resolved that our union believes every worker and human being deserves to live in dignity and peace without the fear of being bombed in their homes and workplaces, or intervention into the internal affairs of their nation;

Be it resolved that our union denounces and calls for an immediate end to all U.S. military and economic intervention in Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, and beyond, including an end to the economic sanctions and blockades;

Be it resolved that our union will mobilize members to call on their locally and federally

elected leaders to reject U.S. imperialism around the world, and demand an end to U.S.-led war and ICE terror;

Be it resolved that our union will provide members with information on local events

happening in solidarity with Iran, Venezuela, and Cuba, and will encourage their attendance as proud union members;

Be it resolved that, at this urgent moment in human history, our local calls on CWA international leadership, the AFL-CIO, and all relevant labor bodies to demand an end to U.S.-led war and to direct union resources and organizing capacity towards encouraging worker action against the war machine, including against ICE inside the U.S.
