Starbucks Baristas on the Move! Shareholders Sweating

View this email in your browser

Welcome to Solidarity Saturday, your weekly highlight reel and your shortcut to staying plugged in. Quick ICYMI: Starbucks leadership has a problem. And it’s not just baristas saying it.

Long-term shareholders sent a letter warning that Starbucks’ “backsliding” labor practices pose a risk to their investments. That’s right. Union busting and stonewalling a fair contract isn’t just wrong. It’s bad for business.

Thousands of baristas have gone on strike over unfair labor practices. Finalizing a fair contract covering pay, staffing, and protections would cost less than one day’s sales. But leadership would rather drag this out. Let them sweat while we keep organizing.

Here’s the week’s brew:

CEO Brian Niccol: roasted.

Consider this required viewing. 😉 Executives definitely won’t like it, and that’s exactly why we do. Watch and share while it’s hot.

If you’re a barista and tired of this man… Organize your store! We’ll give you the information and support you need to stand up to corporate greed and build the workplace you deserve.

20–1 Union Win in Springfield, MO

Congratulations to the baristas at Glenstone & Edgewood in Springfield, Missouri, who just won their union 20–1. Fully locked in with that rain-or-shine, PNW energy.

They didn’t just win. They marched on the boss and made it clear they’re done waiting around for scraps. Forever cheering them on!

Stay Union Strong, Portland

CONGRATULATIONS to Starbucks workers at the Sylvan Retail store in Portland who just won their union. The wave keeps building. We’re so glad you’re with us.

More than 250,000 people have already committed to not buy Starbucks until the company finalizes a fair contract and resolves all pending unfair labor practices. Hold the line, don’t buy Starbucks, Delete the App, spread the word, and keep pushing with us.

In solidarity,

Starbucks Workers United
