Detroit, April 4, 2026: On the anniversary of his assassination: Dr. King’s Legacy in the Face of Today’s Challenges

April 4, 2026 marks the 58th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He battled racism, poverty and war, leaving us a rich legacy of struggle. Today the same racist, capitalist imperialist system keeps assaulting poor and working people with the same challenges – all intensified by the ultra right-wing Trump regime that is trying to reverse almost a century of gains. Join us for a potluck dinner followed by a discussion of how Dr. King’s legacy can help guide our battles today.
