On Tuesday, April 7, Wisconsin voters will elect our next Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice. On the ballot for Supreme Court is a candidate who has a troubling record of rolling back worker rights and freedoms.
Judge Maria Lazar helped Scott Walker bust unions through Act 10 and rigged legislative district maps. During the Scott Walker administration, Lazar worked as an assistant attorney general defending egregious anti-worker legislation like Act 10 and gerrymandered electoral maps.
The Wisconsin AFL-CIO has endorsed Judge Chris Taylor for our Wisconsin Supreme Court. Chris Taylor supports collective bargaining rights and opposed union-busting legislation like Act 10. We have confidence Judge Taylor will consider workplace issues like prevailing wage, right to work, and project labor agreements with our hard-working union families in mind.
Hear directly from candidates. Wisconsin Supreme Court candidates will debate Thursday, April 2, at 7:00 pm. Watch the debate on WISN (Milwaukee), WBAY (Green Bay) and streaming online.
Election Day is just days away. Early voting continues until April 5. Check with your municipal clerk for early voting times and locations in your community. View our list of union-approved candidates and volunteer to talk with fellow union families get out the vote for our spring elections.
On April 7, let’s head to the polls to protect our union rights and contracts. Vote Chris Taylor and union-approved candidates on the ballot this Tuesday.
In Solidarity,
Stephanie Bloomingdale, President
