Philly DA Larry Krasner “found” 6 hidden boxes of Mumia’s files – more proof of DA Office misconduct/frame-up. A just remedy requires dismissal of charges & Mumia’s freedom. Krasner, at the least, do NOT appeal Judge Tucker’s decision.

Despite the first major snowstorm of the year, dozens of community members from the Sheboygan area and beyond participated in a Comm-UNITY event January 19, 2019.
Sheboygan is an increasingly diverse worker’s city known for numerous people’s/labor battles including ones waged by the United Auto Workers Local 833.
“Welcome to the Sheboygan Comm-UNITY March 2019. We are inspired by the Women’s March 2019 and our march will be held the same day. We will gather at Fountain Park at noon, march, and convene at the Mead Public Library’s Rocca Room. At the library, there will be a variety of informational displays by different organizations in Sheboygan. It is our hope that you will take the opportunity to find ways to engage, volunteer, participate, organize, empower, network, and serve,” reads the Facebook event page.
Members of numerous organizations such as the AARP, the Crusaders Of Justicia, the Wisconsin Bail Out The People Movement, Veterans For Peace, children, union members, college students and professors from LTC and Lakeland College, artists, peace and justice activists, children and others gathered at the community institution the Mead Public Library. A march from Fountain Park preceded the library gathering. Many current and retired public school educators took part.
Participants at the event were excited to build and develop relationships and to strategize about ways to build people’s unity in the Sheboygan area and worldwide. Those present took opportunities to learn about various organizations which had literature tables, heard speakers and generally enjoyed the atmosphere of like minded working class folks wanting to build a better world free of bigotry and hate.
A sign making party to prepare for the January 19 event took place the week prior.

From Joe Brusky, MTEA Social Media Coordinator in California on strike support duty:
Oakland teachers are fighting for the same thing L.A. Teachers are fighting for, small class sizes and more adults in classrooms working with students. We just hoisted our first 24-foot parachute banner which will now become a fixture at future Oakland Education Association marches and rallies. Come and join the Oakland Art Build for Public Education. We’re here till 10pm tonight and 10am to 10pm Sunday.

Convict VAN DYKE: Sentencing Date!
Today, Judge Stephenson ruled that all three cops involved in the cover up of the murder of Laquan McDonald were not guilty. She claims that there was no evidence of a cover up in their reports or statements. With tomorrow being the verdict of Van Dyke, things are looking grim.
This is a call to action: Tomorrow, 1/18/2019, in room 500 at 9 AM, show up to stand in solidarity with organizers and the family of Laquan McDonald as we demand, again, #Justice4Laquan

JOIN Virginia Educators – March to VA Capitol on January 28th

#RedforEd #Red4Ed #FundOurSchools
VIRGINIA’S TIME IS NOW!
After a decade of budget cuts, Virginia’s schools have reached their breaking point. Our General Assembly has abandoned their constitutional duty to fund our education system for too long, and as supporters of public education, we are not taking it anymore. We refuse to permit our kids to go to schools where the buildings are collapsing, where teachers are overworked and under compensated, and where there are fewer and fewer resources every year.
On January 28th, Virginia Educators United and other statewide advocacy groups will march on the Capitol in Richmond and demand that our legislators stop short-changing our students. This day of solidarity is our opportunity to send a clear message to every member of the General Assembly that voters in Virginia demand that public schools become the number one priority of our legislature. With the upcoming November elections, now is the time to put every elected official on notice.
In order for us to achieve that goal, we need every county, city, and town to wear red and walk with us. We need every PTA, community organization and religious institution to join us. We need every student, parent, community member, and stakeholder to stand together and demand better for our students, our communities, and our educators.
We will gather beginning at 11:00 AM at VCU-Monroe Park. The MARCH to the capital will begin around 11:30 AM. Then we will RALLY at the capital and stand in solidarity to demand more funding for our schools!
