The Chicago Solidarity Center was founded on the idea that solidarity among workers, oppressed peoples, and immigrants is our greatest asset in the struggle for a better world. By acting as a resource for workers, grassroots organizations, anti-racist activists, advocates for immigrants, and anti-war/anti-imperialist organizers, we hope to build concrete solidarity between all those fighting for justice in Chicago.

Our volunteer-supported and operated office is located at the intersection of Chicago’s Noble Square, East Village, and Wicker Park neighborhoods, just a few blocks from the Division Blue Line stop.

Visitors and comrades are always welcome, and we’re proud to offer our space to any organization that shares our values of solidarity, people-power, and struggle.

Chicago Solidarity Center resources include the following:

-Space for Events or Meetings
-A Quiet Co-Working Area
-Storage Space for Organizing Resources
-Equipment for Demonstrations and Rallies
-A Radical Lending Library

The Chicago Solidarity Center is a freedom space for people of color, women, gender oppressed people, and all oppressed people. Neither harassment nor abuse is tolerated.

UNAC: Statement of Unity on the Upcoming U.S.-North Korea Summit

http://www.zoominkorea.org/statement-of-unity-on-the-upcoming-u-s-north-korea-summit/

Statement of Unity by Korean Americans and Allies on the Historic Inter-Korean Summit and the Upcoming U.S.-North Korea Summit

(June 7, 2018)

Since the historic April 27 summit between the leaders of North and South Korea at Panmunjom, longstanding tensions and war threats on the Korean peninsula have given way to the promise of peace and reconciliation. Soon, another historic summit, between the United States and North Korea, will take place in Singapore. The two parties, which not too long ago were on the brink of war, will finally sit down to discuss a peaceful settlement to the Korean War. All eyes of the world will be on this momentous event, which could determine not only the fate of the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia but also the prospect of global peace.

We—Korean Americans who have long fought for peace and the self-determined unification of the Korean peninsula, and allies who stand on the side of peace and justice and share a critical stake in the struggle for peace in Korea—wish to make clear our views on the recent inter-Korean summit and the upcoming U.S.-North Korea summit….

Hosted by SWS Chicago

Smash White Supremacy Party & Fundraiser!

1105 N Ashland, Chicago, 4-7 P.M.

Smash White Supremacy Chicago is having a fundraiser & party to support our summer arts initiative in Greater Grand Crossing over the summer hosted by the Chicago Solidarity Center. For three weeks over the summer, students will create art in the Greater Grand Crossing Library in response to the prompt: What do you like about your neighborhood? & What would you like to see in your neighborhood? Students will judge each others work at the conclusion of the workshops and the winners will receive cash prizes!

This arts contest is an initiative by Smash White Supremacy Chicago. SWSC is currently engaged in a campaign to remove the racist, confederate monument in Greater Grand Crossing, a working class historically black neighborhood on the south side of Chicago.

Any donations or funds raised at the event will go directly towards art supplies and prize money for students. Cash or Venmo (@ChiSolidarity – https://venmo.com/chisolidarity) accepted.

We will have food, music and more TBA!

Invite friends and comrades! Please share widely!
