See WI AFL-CIO blog for update: http://wisaflcio.typepad.com/wisconsin-state-afl-cio-blog/2012/01/machinists-reject-contract.html

Today, members of Machinists Lodge 516 voted for the second time to reject the Manitowoc Cranes “freedom of choice” union-busting proposal. The members are thus still on strike and need lots of support.

If you are in the Manitowoc area you can stop by the picket line on 30th Street between Viebahn and Dewey in Manitowoc, M-F 6 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sat. 6 a.m.-12 noon. If going to join the picketline, please consider bringing hot beverages such as coffee, apple cider etc.

If you are a member of a union, community, student or faith-based organization consider taking a delegation down to the picketline, taking up a collection for the strikers, stopping by the strike headquarters, getting solidarity statements and resolutions etc.

Supporters of the strikers can also visit the Manitowoc Co. store in downtown Manitowoc to inform the company how you feel about their union-busting. 836 S 8th St  Manitowoc, WI 54220 (across from the Manitowoc Library).
