URGENT REQUEST: SUPPORT THE NAACP/VOCES LAWSUIT AGAINST PHOTO ID

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO MONITOR POLLING LOCATIONS FOR VOTERS DENIED REGULAR BALLOTS IN UPCOMING FEBRUARY 21 ELECTION!

The trial in the NAACP lawsuit challenging the Constitutionality of
Wisconsin’s Photo ID Law is imminent in Dane County before Judge David
Flanagan.  Wednesday nite, the Judge denied the NAACP Motion for a
temporary injunction, but stated he wants evidence of voters prevented
from voting by the photo ID law.   Voters appearing at the polls on
Tuesday, Feb. 21 without acceptable photo ID will not be allowed to
vote (except by provisional ballot which must be perfected by Friday,
Feb. 24 at 4 pm).

The NAACP and others will be procuring statements and affidavits from
voters turned away from the polls on Tuesday.   Volunteers and
Attorneys will be drafting and executing such affidavits on the spot
for denied the right to vote. Help them gather the critical evidence
required to demonstrate the disenfranchising effect of Wisconsin’s
Photo ID law.   Trainings sessions will be conducted.

To volunteer, respond directly to NAACP Attorney Richard Saks
(rsaks@hq-law.com or 414 331-4405 (cell)) to indicate that you are
available to work on Election Day, Feb. 21.
