DIGNITY AT DARDEN.

In December 2011, workers from the Capital Grille Restaurant stood up for dignity in their restaurant company. On January 31st, Capital Grille workers in New York, Chicago, and in the Washington, DC area filed federal litigation against Capital Grille’s parent company Darden for discrimination and wage theft. Darden restaurants include Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and Capital Grille.

Darden employees of all races have reported racial discrimination, lack of breaks, tipped minimum wage (of $2.13 an hour) and hostile work environments for years.

In solidarity with the hundreds of workers hired and fired by Capital Grille Steakhouses nationwide, let’s let Capital Grille know Milwaukeeans won’t stand for oppressive workplace conditions anymore.

Let’s meet at 6:30 PM across from the Capital Grille at the plaza outside of the Midwest Express Center, on 4th and Wisconsin.

Professor Patrick Bellegarde-Smith, the author and co-editor of Five books on Haitian culture, religion and history, some translated from the original English into Spanish, Portuguese and French, will lecture on African religions systems, on Thursday, February 9, at 12 noon, in the Student Union, Room 191 at UW-Milwaukee, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd.

Dr. Bellegarde-Smith is also a priest in the Haitian religion, Vodou.

inspired by the Seven African Powers.”
