STATE OF EMERGENCY Call In TODAY! Every day the joblessness crisis brings another Milwaukee family to the brink of disaster. WE CAN NOT AFFORD TO WAIT UNTIL AFTER THE ELECTION FOR OUR LEADERS TO LEAD! Even as they campaign on the Milwaukee Jobs Act, a number of Milwaukee elected officials have no interest in moving the legislation forward before the elections April 3rd. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!
The Milwaukee Jobs Act Coalition has invited every Alderperson to a press conference at City Hall. So far not a single one, including our allies, have agreed to participate. It’s time that we hold people asking for our votes accountable for the crisis plaguing our community.
Immediately after the press conference we are holding the People’s Public Hearing on the Milwaukee Jobs Act. Community, Faith and Labor leaders throughout the city will take public testimony on the Milwaukee Jobs Act. They will use your ideas to develop an aggressive campaign to move the Milwaukee Jobs Act forward.
TODAY take five minutes out of your day, participate in the citywide call in day, and tell your Alderperson to join you at the Milwaukee Jobs Act press conference tomorrow in the city hall rotunda.
