Who: Congressman Hansen Clarke, neighbors, community advocates, union members, and faith-based activists opposed to the unjust eviction of Jennifer Britt
Congressman Hansen Clarke will join supporters of Jennifer Britt and her family Monday noon, July 23, at the vigil opposing the court-ordered eviction brought by Fannie Mae against Ms. Britt.

At the rally and press conference at the Britt home, Congressman Clarke will announce his support of community advocates and friends who are calling on Fannie Mae to cancel the eviction and work to keep Ms. Britt and her family in their home. In response to phone calls and a demonstration at the Federal building, the Detroit offices of U.S. Senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow, along with Congressman John Conyers, have also questioned Fannie Mae’s actions.

Join us for a fundraising party at Jennifer’s home, Tuesday, June 24, from 4 to 8 PM. We will have food, music, and camaraderie.

You can join the peaceful and determined opposition to another unjust eviction in whatever capacity you are comfortable with — as witness, supporter, resister. We will oppose the placing of the dumpster in front of Jennifer Britt’s home in a nonviolent manner, making a statement with our numbers.

We need more people to join us for all time slots at Jennifer’s home this week (15701 Warwick, just south of Grand River, 1/2 mile west of the Southfield Expressway).
