The universities reflect and replicate the broader social relationships of society. Whether it’s in the classroom or the workplace, those in power do everything they can to keep us divided by using racism, sexism, heterosexism, and other forms of institutionalized oppression. We believe that if we ever hope to build a movement that can win real change in our universities and society, we must build unity and fight against all forms of oppression. Those who experience oppression must be in the leadership of our movements. We work to unite with any and all groups — on the campuses and in the community — who are working to build a grassroots movement for social change.
