On April 30 Dontre Hamilton was shot 14 times in Red Arrow Park by Milwaukee Police Officer Christopher Manney. This officer has since been released from his post, but has appealed his firing to the Fire and Police Commission (the governing body of our local police force).
This Thursday, the Fire and Police Commission will meet at the Washington Park Senior Center (4420 West Vliet Street) to discuss his appeal and possibly give him his job back. We can not allow this to happen. We must show up in numbers and in force to let the commissioners know that what Manney did was Unconstitutional, immoral, and inhumane, and that we do not want an officer like that patrolling our streets.
Please join us at 5pm outside of the Senior Center for a small rally. We would like to walk in as a united front, standing against injustice in our community, so please try to arrive on time. We will Win! See you Thursday.
