Die-in at the North Madison Police station, Saturday January 3 at 3:30 pm.
Meet at UW Northeast Family Clinic Parking lot. Entrance on Dryden, near autozone. We will march and then Die-in.
We bring our actions to the North side, as many of our people are living in poverty there. We will no longer tolerate the status quo, that living in poverty is a crime, that mass-incarceration is a solution to crimes of poverty. That we are here for all the black women, men, lesbian, gay, queer, transgender, bi, and more that have died and suffered at the hands of the state. That this will no longer be an accepted reality.
We demand the $8 million for the new jail be reallocated to community led resources. No new jail funding
We demand the release of 350 black people from the dane county jail and the release of those incarcerated due to crimes of poverty
We demand an end to solitary confinement.
