Alexei Mozgovoi, commander of the Ghost Brigae, the Communist detachment of the Donbass militia fighters, has been assassinated on the road from Luhansk to Alchevsk. Mozgovoi oversaw the liberation of Debaltseve, where the Soviet flag was raised again by his Ghost Brigade. He always argued for a genuine revolution, one that would throw off the chains of capitalism and give birth to a bright red future. Alexei Mozgovoi sacrificed everything for his ideals, his sacrifices are not wasted, the struggle carries on.

On May 23 at 17:30 an attempt was made on the life of Ghost Brigade Commander Alexei Borisovich Mozgovoi. After the explosion of a mine, the car carrying the Brigade Commander was shot by two PKs and one or two RPKs [machine guns].

Everyone in the car – Brigade Commander Mozgovoi, his Press Secretary Anna, driver “Song” and bodyguards “Canvas” and “Broom” – died on the spot. The assassins also hit three other cars, killing two civilians, including a pregnant woman.

Currently law enforcement authorities of the Lugansk People’s Republic are conducting investigations and operational activities aimed at identifying and apprehending the criminals. An official report from the command of Ghost Brigade will be announced shortly.
