Aug. 29th: National Call-In Day for Oscar Lopez Rivera!

Saturday August 29, 2015
National Call In Day for Oscar Lopez Rivera

This month’s guest endorser is Long time Brooklyn based activist/community leader and Executive Director of UPROSE:

The current ecological and economic crises faced by Puerto Rico is a direct consequence of everything that Oscar Lopez gave his life and freedom to prevent. His life is no different than that of liberators all over the world and the US, who fought for human rights and dignity. His release would be an affirmation of justice and fair play by President Obama, and the Puerto Rican community which delivered Florida in his election & has consistently supported him, we will make this commitment to remedying this injustice, a part of his legacy. Join us on Saturday August 29th and make a phone call for Oscar Lopez Rivera.-Elizabeth Yeampierre

On the 29th of each month, we’re asking all our allies and supporters to CALL THE WHITE HOUSE AND

DEMAND THE RELEASE OF PUERTO RICAN POLITICAL PRISONER OSCAR LOPEZ RIVERA!

Call President Obama at 202-456-1111 and leave a message! Let him know that Oscar Lopez Rivera has been in prison for too long and deserves to go home!

We need to flood the voice mail with our united demands for freedom!

Sample Message for your phone call:
President Obama, I ask that you free Puerto Rican Political Prisoner, Oscar Lopez Rivera. Since 1981, he has been in jail for fighting for Puerto Rican independence; he never committed a violent crime and has been a model prisoner. I ask that you follow in the foot steps of Presidents Truman, Carter, and Clinton, who freed other Puerto Rican activists, and set Oscar free!
