Milwaukee, September 12: Resistance Skillshare: Techniques for Examining Global Exploitation, Doing House Visits, Boycot, and Prisoner Support

Resistance Skillshare: Techniques for Examining Global Exploitation, Doing House Visits, Boycot, and Prisoner Support

When Syrian, Afghan or Rohinga refugees decide to put their children on boats, it means that the sea is safer than land. How did it become so? How have the policies and actions of our government and large corporations based in the USA made the world unsafe and insecure? Who profits from mass incarceration at home and wars abroad? What can we do locally to resist exploitation at home and abroad?

Please join us on Saturday, September 12th, for the monthly resistance skillshare, organized by the Milwaukee Industrial Workers of the World. It focuses on building skills for collective action against exploitation, fostering direct action through presentations and participatory discussion. Come for one session, all, or whatever you can make. This training is free and open to the public.

11:00 AM-12:00 PM. “Tackling Global Exploitation: Bangladesh, the Unites States and Building Winnable Campaigns”

12:00-1:00 PM. Lunch, free food provided.

1:00-2:00 PM. “House Visits.” Call-in from Baltimore IWW.

2:00-3:00 PM. “Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions.”

3:00-4:00 PM. Prisoner-Support: Writing Letters, Research and Sustainable Organizing.

The event is located in the large meeting room of the Forest Home library, located at 1432 West Forest Home Avenue, Milwaukee. It’s part of the Resistance Skillshare series, a monthly series of workshops and other gatherings, organized by the Milwaukee branch of the Industrial Workers of the World. Sessions are led by both IWW members and allies.
