Ms. Maria Hamilton to Hillary Clinton: What About Our Children Profiled and Killed By Police?

Earlier this afternoon (September 10) Ms. Maria Hamilton, Founder of Mothers for Justice spoke with someone from Hillary Clinton‘s campaign and they said they are aware of Dontre Hamilton’s case and will address the concerns and the issues that face the mothers and families of those who day in and day out have to deal with the stream of constant injustices.

Ms. Maria heard them by phone, now she wants to hear that from Hillary Clinton herself at this evening’s Women for Hillary event today at UWM INSIDE IN THE WISCONSIN ROOM OF THE UWM STUDENT UNION. It was moved indoors because of the weather. Doors open at 4 p.m. and she is scheduled to speak at 5:30 p.m.

Maria Hamilton is the mother of Dontre Hamilton. He was murdered April 30, 2014 at Red Arrow Park in Milwaukee, WI by a now former Milwaukee Police Officer Christopher Manney who shot Dontre 14 times.

PRESS RELEASE

Milwaukee, WI- Mothers for Justice and The Coalition for Justice are looking forward to hearing the message Hillary Clinton has for mothers and families in Milwaukee.

“We know Hillary Clinton plans to “discuss her record of fighting for women and families,” but will this message include mothers who’ve lost children and loved ones that were profiled and killed by police misconduct. We need a President that is going to fight for all people that are and have been killed for not doing anything wrong but being Black. All murders and police who take life because of color barriers or hate. Should be held accountable for their actions,” Maria Hamilton, Founder of Mothers for Justice said.

Maria Hamilton’s son Dontre Hamilton was murdered April 30, 2014 at Red Arrow Park in Milwaukee, WI. A now former Milwaukee Police Officer Christopher Manney shot Dontre Hamilton 14 times.

Has she addressed moms like Maria Hamilton who’ve lost their sons to police violence? If not this is a perfect opportunity for her to address Mothers for Justice and assure them that if she is elected she has a plan to better police accountability and transparency along with hiring independent prosecutors for these type of cases.

We have contacted her campaign officials and are awaiting a response to a private meeting. If we do not receive a response to that request we will indeed make our presence known at her Women for Hillary event tomorrow.
