Resistance Skillshare: Accessibility of Anti-Capitalist Language, Building Alternative Communities and Prisoner Support

October Resistance Skillshare, organized by the Milwaukee branch of the Industrial Workers of the World. Each session is free, open to the public and participatory, designed to build organizing skills that strengthen concrete resistance to the capitalist system and white supremacy, and increase solidarity. Each session can stand alone, please make it to however many you are able. Free food and drink is available across the day. The day’s event is a co-project with the Milwaukee Free School.

1:00-1:30 PM. Introduction, ice-breaker.

1:30-2:55 PM. “Accessibility of Anti-Capitalist Language.” Session facilitated by Michael Grochowski. (IWW, Milwaukee Free School)

3:00-3:30 PM. “Building Alternative Communities.” Session facilitated by Laura Goldblatt (University of Virginia teacher, call-in)

3:30-4:45 PM. “Solidarity and Support With Prisoners: Letter Writing, Coalition-Building and Next Steps”.* Session facilitated by Emiliano Soza and Jacob Glicklich (IWW)

*This session will include stamps, letters, pens, paper and contacts for letter-writing to people incarcerated in Wisconsin, as well as discussion of the IWW’s current prisoner organizing effort, and other recent prisoner rebellions in the U.S.A.
