Over New Year’s weekend, agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out raids in Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, and Texas targeting Central American refugees ordered removed by an immigration judge in deeply flawed hearings where their constitutional rights were denied.
On Thursday, January 7 Voces de la Frontera and the New Sanctuary Movement of Milwaukee lead a protest at the ICE office downtown Milwaukee (310 E. Knapp St.) in support of refugee community members and calling on ICE to stop the raids. Stay tuned for upcoming Know Your Rights Workshop and other resources for community self-defense.
