Lobby Day for Immigrant Rights / Día de Cabildeo para los Derechos de los Inmigrantes
Join Voces de la Frontera members on Wednesday, January 20 at 10am in Room 450 East at the Capitol in Madison to testify against anti-immigrant legislation and lobby legislators!
Anti-immigrant legislators have put forward bills to:
Permit police and public employees to ask people about their immigration status (AB 450)
Impound the cars of people stopped for driving without a license
Block local control and local ID cards (SB 533)
On January 20, we will visit lawmakers to urge them to oppose all three bills and testify in a public hearing at 10am on AB 450 in Room 412 East. We will have a bus available in Racine and Milwaukee for those who need a ride. The bus leaves from the Racine Labor Center (2100 Layard Ave.) at 6:30am and from Voces de la Frontera (1027 S. 5th Street) in Milwaukee at 7am.
