Afer a two year battle the Boston School Busdrivers Union won what could be called a historic victory against the corporate giant Veolia. The Grass is Greener will be talking with two leaders of the union and an activist who helped build support for them. They will discuss the strike and what possible ramifications it has for labor.
Andre Francois is president of Steelworkers Local 8751, the Boston School Bus Drivers Union. He is one of the four fired union leaders reinstated after a two year plus fight on December 23.
Steve Gillis is Financial Secretary of Local 8751. He was Vice President at the time he was fired along with Andre, Steve Kirschbaum and Garry Murchison. He has previously served as President. He is a leading member of Boston Workers World Party
Martha Grevatt is a 28 year UAW Chrysler worker, currently serving on the Civil and Human Rights Committee of UAW Local 869 in Warren, Michigan. She coordinated labor outreach for the School Bus Union Four. She is a leading member of Detroit WWP and a contributing editor to Workers World newspaper.
