Waupun, August 13: Support Prison Hunger Strikers (Transportation from Milwaukee)

Milwaukee IWW

Friends, coworkers, fighters for freedom; we need you to participate in a solidarity action this Saturday.

(PROTEST DETAILS BELOW AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST)

Since June 7, Cesar DeLeon and LaRon McKinley have been fighting against state violence, white supremacy and torture in the only way someone locked inside a cell for 23 hours a day can: they have been starving themselves.

Please let us know if you can give five hours on Saturday to showing up in an easy, but decisive way in support of their cause.

For 65 days these prisoners, and others have been demanding an end to long term solitary confinement. Milwaukee IWOC and a coalition of prisoner support groups have stepped up to support them with repeated actions, and the WI DOC has responded with more violence. Three times a day hostile prison staff shove tubes down Cesar and LaRon’s noses to force sustenance into their stomachs against their will. Read more about it here: http://bit.ly/2bjxCXJ

We will be providing food water and transport to and from Milwaukee!

If coming from Milwaukee: meet at 1 PM at the UPark on Humboldt north of Capitol by Estabrook Park. We will return by 6 PM. If you can commit to coming, post below or email iww.milwaukee@gmail.com

If coming from elsewhere, please meet us at 3:30 at the mobile station on the east side of Waupun. It’s on the corner of Main and Schuler, which is visible from the intersection of HWY 49 and 151.
