Some of you may be feeling discouraged by the outcome of the election, which served as a reminder that the terrain is shifting toward increasing hostility. Many members of our communities are more vulnerable than ever before—including those who are Black and Southeast Asian, queer, young, elderly, disabled, immigrant, displaced, and low income. But we want you to know that we have come too far to go home with anything short of freedom, and we are going to keep fighting until we win!
We come from a people who have faced deep atrocities and violence, including enslavement, war, genocide, displacement, and more. In the face of state-sponsored oppression and the predominant culture of white supremacy and fascism, we remain firm in our commitments to end violence within and against our communities. More than ever, this is the time to double down and be uncompromising and unapologetic in our vision for freedom!
Join with us as we show up and show out for freedom. We are asking you to pledge monthly donations to support and sustain our absolutely vital work. What will your donations support? Since long before this election we have built a base of power in order to force the pendulum of change in our direction. But we are now working harder than ever to prepare for the changes that are to come.
This includes deep political education for our members, safety planning for both interpersonal and systemic attacks, and leadership training for those who will guide us through these tumultuous times. We are also concentrating on building strategies that will win in a shifting terrain. This means engaging in a deep assessment of the upcoming administration, reminding ourselves of lessons learned from generations of activism, and sharpening our movement science so we can build strategies to win.
We need you now more than ever. We encourage you to become a sustaining member by committing to monthly donations. But more importantly, we invite you to come to our events and become members of our organization. Join us and support Black and Southeast Asian freedom fighters in trail blazing for social change!
