As the US steps up its illegal war on Syria with attacks on Syrian forces and Russian and Syrian planes, it has declared “protected zones” in Syria, which are effectively “no fly zones” that threaten greater war.  Stephen Gowans will discuss the role played by the US in Syria over the past decades that has led to this moment.
