Milwaukee, April 15, 2018: Write Letters to Lgbtq+ People in Prisons

Hosted by Black and Pink: Milwaukee

814 W Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee Public Library, 1-3 P.M.

Join Black and Pink Milwaukee as we meet at the Central Library in downtown Milwaukee, in the large Community Room 1, at 1 PM, to write letters of support to queer people held captive in prisons, to read and respond to their letters, and to work toward abolishing the violence of incarceration.

Even if you have never written to anyone incarcerated before or done any kind of mail processing, but are interested in checking out what Black & Pink is all about, you’re welcome to attend!

Black & Pink is an open family of LGBTQ+ prisoners and “free world” allies who support each other. We are outraged by the specific violence of the prison industrial complex against LGBTQ+ people, and respond through advocacy, education, direct service, and organizing.

Location is wheelchair accessible. Event is free. All are welcome.
