Solidarity with survivors of CCI lockdown
Join us in fighting the Columbia Correctional Institution (CCI) lockdown!
We will march on the Wisconsin DOC headquarters in solidarity with those incarcerated people surviving the longest most brutal lockdown in years and in remembrance of Larry Bracey, who was killed by medical neglect on December 3.
Warden Susan Novak has implemented fatal policies and enabled abusive behavior by racist guards, as documented in correspondence and reports collected by FFUP and posted to prisonforum.org. Larry Bracey’s death is on Novak’s hands. Allowing her to continue operating any WI prison is irresponsible and a great moral failing. Join us in demanding change!
At 1:30 we will gather at Worthington park, then march together 3 blocks around to the visitor’s entrance on Washington Avenue side of the DOC. There we will demand to speak with Secretary Kevin Carr. We will confront him or whatever staff person he sends out to represent him about the racist violence occurring at CCI and across the DOC under his watch. We will demand an explanation and demand change.
