Oshkosh, January 4, 2019: No War With Iran!

No War With Iran!

315 N Main Street, Oshkosh, 11 A.M. – 12 NOON (Opera House Square – Main Street)

Join us at 11 am by the sundial in Oshkosh to protest the sensless US aggression against Iran and rally for peace.

President Trump has once again shown his contempt democracy by directly ordering US forces to attack the sovereign country of Iran without the consent of the American people.

Provoking a war with Iran is a foolish decision that will waste countless lives and cause untold suffering. And yet our leaders appear hellbent on dominating the Middle East no matter the cost of human lives.

For the love of democracy and out of respect for human life let us stand firmly against this war, and loudly denounce the violent actions of our leaders.

Say no to Donald Trump! Say no to US Imperialism! NO WAR WITH IRAN!

Rally Against War With Iran Planned for Saturday at State Capitol

Organizers are hoping that Madisonians come out in force for a rally titled “US Out of Iraq! No War with Iran!” that will take place Saturday, Jan. 4, noon-2 p.m. at the Wisconsin State Capitol. The rally is being organized to protest the United States’ escalation toward war with Iran with the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, the top military leader of that country.

The Madison branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation is hosting the rally that will be co-sponsored by the Democratic Socialists of America – Madison, Socialist Rifle Association of Madison, Wisconsin Bail Out The People Movement and Neighborhood Organizing Institute.

“If Iran openly assassinated a top U.S. general and bragged about it, there is no question that the United States would initiate full-scale war,” the group said on its Facebook page. “Trump and the Pentagon have acted illegally, in violation of the Constitution, the War Powers Act and international law.

“The targeted assassination and murder of a central leader of Iran is designed to initiate a new war. Unless the people of the United States rise up and stop it, this war will engulf the whole region and could quickly turn into a global conflict of unpredictable scope and potentially the gravest consequences,” they added.

UPDATE: The Trump administration and Pentagon have moved to start a war with Iran by assassinating General Qassem Soleimani, the top military leader of that country. If Iran openly assassinated a top U.S. general and bragged about it, there is no question that the United States would initiate full scale war. Trump and the Pentagon have acted illegally, in violation of the Constitution, the War Powers Act and international law.

The targeted assassination and murder of a central leader of Iran is designed to initiate a new war. Unless the people of the United States rise up and stop it, this war will engulf the whole region and could quickly turn into a global conflict of unpredictable scope and potentially the gravest consequences.

The Pentagon high command is recklessly bragging about this illegal, targeted assassination in the most crude and false manner. “This strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans,” stated the lying generals. They know that the objective of the strike is just the opposite. They want a war with Iran – a country of more than 80 million people. Trump wants it too because he thinks it will guarantee his re-election in 2020.

For all who believe in peace, for all who are opposed to yet another catastrophic war, now is the time to take action. On Saturday, January 4 in cities across the country there will be protests against a new war in the Middle East and calling for the withdrawal of all U.S. troops and bases in the region.

ORIGINAL POST: Donald Trump has ordered hundreds and perhaps thousands of more U.S. troops to the Middle East in response to the massive protests in Iraq following the latest U.S. aerial assault that killed scores of Iraqis. The protesters siege of the U.S. Embassy has ended as of now but the recent U.S. bombings of Iraq reveal the criminal, imperial character of the U.S. occupation of Iraq. More than a million Iraqis have died during the past 28 years as a consequence of U.S. occupation, bombings, and sanctions. Tens of thousands of U.S. troops have either been killed or suffered life-changing wounds. The U.S. government has spent more than $3 trillion dollars in the on-going occupation and bombing of this oil-rich country.

In response we are calling on all people of conscience to come out to the Wisconsin State Capitol building (the side meeting State Street) this Saturday at 12 noon to demand U.S. troops out of Iraq. This is part of a national coordinated day of action.

If your organization would like to endorse or co-sponsor, please message us!

No to War! No to Sanctions! U.S. Out of the Middle East!

NYC, Feb. 21, 2019: United National AntiWar Coalition (UNAC) National Conference

UNAC National Conference.

United National Antiwar Coalition

Rise Against Militarism, Racism and the Climate Crisis – Building Power Together.
UNAC will be holding our national conference at the People’s Forum at 320 West 37th Street (Between 8th & 9th Avenues), New York, NY.
The United National Antiwar Coalition (UNAC) has made great strides since its 2017 conference which was held in Richmond, Virginia. Since that time new organizations have joined our coalition. Our members have traveled as part of delegations to Venezuela, Ukraine, Syria and Cuba. We have held conferences against U.S./NATO military bases in Baltimore, Maryland and Dublin, Ireland. We have organized against the militarization of police departments, AFRICOM, and punishing sanctions against other nations. Our members worked to prevent the illegal Venezuelan coup government from taking over the Washington embassy, while others walked picket lines with striking workers.

At our conference, we will organize against ecocide, white supremacist policy and war in all its forms. We will gather to put the issue of peace before the voters in an election year and to protest against anti-immigrant policies. Our principles of unity will be strengthened as we gather to stop the wars at home and abroad.

The UNAC conference will be a place where we deepen that unity and build the our movement for the next stage of struggle.

Join us!

Milwaukee, January 4, 2019: Emergency Rally – U.S. Troops Out Of Iraq! – No U.S. Invasion of Iran! Protest the Assassination of Gen. Qassim Soleimani!

Emergency Rally – U.S. Troops Out Of Iraq!

27th & Oklahoma, Milwaukee, WI – 12 NOON

Update: On January 2, 2020, the U.S. Pentagon, backed up by Wall Street and the White House, assassinated General Qassim Soleimani, the leader of Iran’s Quds Force and other Iranian leaders in Baghad.

Donald Trump has ordered hundreds and perhaps thousands of more U.S. troops to the Middle East in response to the massive protests in Iraq following the latest U.S. aerial assault that killed scores of Iraqis.

We will be rallying at the intersection of 27th and Oklahoma in Milwaukee to demand no more bombs be dropped in Iraq and to remove all U.S. troops who continue a tradition of occupation. This event is taking place in coordination with the weekly Stand for Peace, organized by Peace Action of Wisconsin.
