Cedarburg, June 6, 2020: Peace in the Park (In Person Gathering)

Peace in the Park (In Person Gathering)

Dear Cedarburg Community,

I am opening an invitation to anyone that would like to meet this Saturday at Cedar Creek Park. I will be there at 3PM to pray, talk, & peacefully honor victims of police brutality & racism while also socially distancing. This meeting is also to support police of good nature & our government during this traumatic time. This will be a safe space, one that welcomes all walks of life. The goal is to create awareness to injustices and keep peace in our community, & start a conversation about what we can do to help end racism. I’m looking forward to connecting with like minded individuals that seek peace and justice for victims like George Floyd.

If you’d like to order yard signage please visit amazon or request from a local print company- we are getting many requests and cannot manage the orders.

3PM- ☀️🌳 Meeting & Gathering

3:15/3:30- 📚❤️ Story Time for Children – any children attending will be read our books on diversity, kindness, & empathy.

4PM- 🙏🏻🎶 Prayer & Song — please feel free to bring instruments, flowers, signage, etc. If anyone would like to volunteer to sing, play an instrument, or offer the group prayer please message me directly.

5PM- ☮️❤️ Circle of Peace: A peaceful conversation about how we can end racism. You can say a prayer, tell your story, or simply acknowledge that things must change. There is no wrong way to be peaceful in this circle. If you are not comfortable speaking, you can also write down your words & we will read them for you anonymously.

I will close with a moment of silence & wrap up around 6PM, leaving everyone plenty of time to mingle or grab dinner down the street and meet curfew.

If anyone has ideas on how they can participate & support this meeting, please message me directly. ❤️
